It’s been a busy couple weeks in First Grade! Here is a quick overview on what we have been studying.

- Our 4th Grade Buddies came in to help us make these cute bear pictures while we wait for spring to come.

- Our builders and designers.

- We had a STEM challenge this week to use materials provided to create a bridge over a river.

- Liz led us through a science activity where we pretended to be birds and tried out which kind of beak would be the best to get food.

- Some of our math games right now have us learning about place value.

- Adding numbers to 9.

- Money Magic: learning the value of coins and how to trade them in for other equal value coins.

- Number scrolls…….

- Reading groups

- As we begin reading biographies, we are learning how to make timelines.

- So we started out by making our own timelines.

- Sharing them with each other.

- We are on to Opinion Writing!

- We also started a social studies unit on People Who Worked For Justice.

- We’ve studied three heroes so far.

- With many more to come!
