We had a very fun Read A Thon day! We had lots of reading time in our classroom and in the library with our 4th Grade Reading Buddies. We got to look at cool pop up books with Marla and read poems to the whole class with a partner using poems from our poetry notebooks. It is so exciting because WE ARE READERS now! The kids have come so far since the beginning of the year.
We also celebrated our “Collections” from home today. The children have been learning how to write their opinions and back it up with reasons. They each chose one favorite object from their collection and gave it an award, writing reasons to support why this item was “the best” or “the most valuable”. Everyone got a chance to read their opinion writing to the class.
We are so happy to have our friend Graylin back at school with us!!
Our “Courtyard Keepers” have been busy out in the courtyard with our volunteers, helping to plant flowers to make our school more beautiful and ready for SPRING!!
